After several weeks of training, the staff are now ready to take on the task of making Kvinesdal residential and day center the country’s first Montessori nursing home. – It’s about giving the residents that little extra,’ says project leader Nina Iren Sindland.
Recently, those who had completed the course were able to receive a diploma and a flower from Jennifer Brush, who has developed the learning materials the participants have gone through. She is from the USA and received a Fulbright scholarship to work on this project at Kvinesdal Residential and Care Center.
– We are so happy that we can call ourselves Norway’s first Montessori nursing home. We are already a ‘joy of life’ home, and this takes us one step further so that we have an even greater focus on the individual,’ Sindland tells Agder.
She aims to make the residential and care center as little like an institution as possible.
